Pastoral Activities

ImageThe goal of the Parish this year is “Empowering Catechesis and family life” by empowering the catechists and implementing the Family Desk.

Acornhoek Parish is the Biggest in the Diocese. It has 40 small Christian communities. Two main languages are used: xiTsonga spoken by the majority and seSotho (sePulana) which is spoken by 1/3 of the Parish.

The Parish is composed by 4 centres which can become 4 different parishes. All the solidarities present in the Diocese of Witbank are present active. The morning mass takes place every morning in the centre local Christian community and we visit the other communities in the afternoon. We are still keeping the tradition of 3 masses every Sunday. The weekends are busy with funerals, unveiling of tombstone, taking off the black cloths and other meetings of solidarities, catholic Associations, communities, PPC…

The workshops, rallies are organised at least twice a year for each group. Conferences and recollection each quarterly for others groups.
